[OT] Laptop floppy drives

Hey all,

I have recently found an old DEC digial hinote ultra CT475 on ebay=20
which I managed to get for the princly sum of =A35. The laptop itself=20
is great - managed to get win98se on it and telnet into my routers=20
etc. I am planning to use it as a citrix based frontend for=20
something... not sure yet though! (not an impulse buy, honest!)

Anyway, just as I finished installing windows on it the floppy drive=20
made a REALLY nasty noise and has, summmarily, passed on to silicon=20
heaven. My question is "are all laptop floppies made equal?"
Will=20
another random drive work in this ones place? The one I have is made=20
by Citizen (yeah, like the dot matrix printers of the good 'ol=20
days). I would try a desktop version but this one has a laminated=20
ribbon cable (like everything else inside laptops) so a desktop one=20
won't work....

I hope you people can help me out again!

Cheers,

Matt
