RE: IR sender recommendation
Steve,
Just bought and installed a TV Plus IR Link (about =A320). You can add
them to the existing SKY Box (using RF2) to enable the eye, in the
remote location, to operate other IR devices located by your Sky
receiver. But in your case I also understand they can be used
stand-alone without a SKY box if you use the mains powered version

I have 75m of co-ax between the house and 'Studio flat' with a TV Link
eye enabling me to control Sky, Tivo, and VCR by IR over the co-ax, very
good results.
The TVLink website is not very easy to follow, nor are the instructions
but the kit works...
I intend to do all this in the future over CAT5 using something like
Nexus in the future, this is a bit of a stop gap...

Subject: [ukha_d] Freeview STB and IR sender recommendation
Having recently bought another TiVo for the bedroom, it's time for a few
more channels.
=20
There are obviously loads of cheap Freeview STBs around at the moment,
but
what do folks recommend? I don't want to pay a fortune, but I'm not
interested in the cheapest, either. It must work _perfectly_ with TiVo
and
have SCART output (preferably RGB). I don't need digital audio at the
moment, but you never know in future.
=20
Secondly, I want to move the TiVo into the loft (or perhaps the computer
room) because it's too noisy for the bedroom. Signal cabling is no
problem;
we're only talking 5M max, but what should I use for IR? Does TiVo work
OK
with the usual Powermid kind of repeater?

TIA,
Steve
