Pete, if you haven't booked up for UKHA2004, do it now - the xPL Project
team will be demonstrating pretty much all of the functionality you are
describing (or rather, all of the tools required to do what you are
describing - remote temperature sensing, general I/O control for driving
valves/motors etc as well as quite complex occupancy detection)
In fact, I'd urge anyone who hasn't registered for UKHA2004 to do so!
There are going to be a stack of new announcements, and lots of
incredibly cool tech on display - stuff that can be used in your house,
right here, right now. It has been an exciting year, and it's all coming
together nicely.
