[OT] MS Bluetooth keyboard

I've just got a new works laptop, but as it's a lightweight jobbie, it
doesn't have many connectors, thus no ps/2 port (but it does have
Bluetooth).  I've got the MS BT keyboard plumbed into my main server; does
anyone know if the k/board & mouse will connect to the lappy without
having
to use the MS Bluetooth widget that came with the keyboard?  I don't see
why
not, but if I try to detect anything, the laptop only finds the widget, and
not the individual components.  I'm reluctant to take it off the server
unless I know it'll work, as it took me an age to get it working reliably
in
the fist place....
