RE: ADSL choices [OT]
Hmmm, me too OL2003/XP Pro on Nildram 0.5Mb (which I speed tested yesterday
and seemed in order) via a US-based VPN. I get loads of stutters/pauses in
on-line mode, but when I'm on the office (on either a 10Mb or 100Mb link),
I
get nothing, which would indicate it's a line speed problem, and not a slow
server problem, but maybe it's because of the location of the VPN?? I know
next to nothing about VPNs, but I do know that we don't have a concentrator
in the UK, so maybe that slows things down?? The route is effectively my
laptop -> US VPN -> UK Exchange server -> US VPN -> my laptop.
Obviously,
when I'm in the office, there's no VPN, so it's a direct connection to the
Exchange server.

Yes, that's what I do. Outlook 2003 on WinXP with 0.5Mb Pipex.
No problems at all - no pauses or lock-ups.
My son has the same setup and upgraded to 1Mb - he doesn't see any
difference except of course in file download speed!
