DIY 19" rack - any pointers

I remember a while back there were 1 or 2 folk on the list who had
successfully built their own 19" racks. I'm planning to do the same
mainly
due to space constraints and the need for some customisation that would not
necessarily fit a bought-in rack. My DIY rack will handle Cat5e patch
panels
(3 no. 48-way panels planned so far), 2 no. 16 port switches, a 30 way
CT100
patch panel with distribution amps, BT sockets for 4 lines/ISDN, plus power
etc. Would anyone offer pointers on minimum depths, cable support and power
distribution, or care to mention if I've overlooked anything obvious.

Don't worry if it looks a bit light on Cat5 - I've also got a whole-house
lighting system planned as well as automated heating, and although some of
this will live in the same location (the understairs cupboard) it will not
wire via the rack system but go straight to the relevant control enclosures
(except for the web server link of course) :-)
