Transcoding Audio Tracks on Video Files

Hi Everybody,

I am currently trying to find a way of recoding the audio on some video
files. At present they are originally "VOB" files from a DVD,
which is (I
believe MPEG2 video with AC3 audio). I ideally need to audio in mp3,mp2 or
even pcm format, but am not too fussed about the size. What is desirable
is that it doesn't take much processing power.

What I am doing at present is using AutoGK to convert the files into an
Xvid
AVI with MP3 sound. This is good as I get good quality pictures and decent
non-AC3 sound, but takes AGES. I am not that worried about recoding the
video as size is not an issue, its the audio that's the problem.

Ultimately, all I'm trying to do is get round the fact my ShowCenter cant
down-mix AC3 into analogue :-).

Any ideas?

Best Regards

Simon
