Lumileds are made by Agilent Technologies one of my company's
clients. We supply them with LED lit signs that use the Nichia range
of LEDs. Bit like selling sand to the arabs...................

around 0.7 amps but claim to be the brightest LEDs in the world. The
basic LED assemblies are available through Farnell
(www.farnell.co.uk, lookup "lumileds" or "luxeon") but
there's a
spin-off company that deals with the application side, their site
is: www.lumidrives.com.

conventional LV lamp, but very shallow. I presume that you could use
a conventional fitting but an LED "bulb" instead.
