Yup ... I can also confirm that it gets round any BIOS limits.

I use the £20 ATA133 cards from Maplin - I've got three of them in use at
home. They can be used as either "straight" additional IDE
channels or
configured as RAID 0 (striped) / 0+1 (striped + mirrored) / 1 (mirrored).
I've been running a striped array across 4 Maxtor 5400rpm 160Gb drives and
have been getting about 55Mb per second minimum off the array.
