Re: [OT] Zone labs firewall or other
I used to use Zonealarm with Radmin in days gone past (Radmin works in the
same way as PC Anywhere, VNC etc.) and it was able to answer the pop ups
etc. I am assuming this is a new security thingy from Zone labs which is a
bit of a killer for me. I downloaded the most recent version for the
server ;-((
I will try mailing them to see if they have any answers but I am not
hopeful.
I would not expect terminal services to give me this access and tbh it
does not really matter for me. It's the remote control denial I have a
problem with.

Hiya,
I have had similar problems with programs running with W2k and Terminal
Services. If a program decides that it is going to output to the main
console then none of the remote connections can access the popups that
occure.
The only way I have found around this is to use somthing like VNC
(www.realvnc.com) running as a service and connect into this with the
relavent client.
VNC gives you direct access to the main console ie the bit that displays
on
the monitor, keyboard and mouse thats plugged into the machine. From there
you can get at messages etc that may be waiting for a responce...
The big limitation with this is you only have one main console to controll
so, although several machines can connect to it, what ever program that is
run is echoed to all.
You might find the best answer is using the two methods - at least untill
Zone Alarm has been 'tamed' :)
Hope this helps!
Wayne.
