That's why I tried my spare dimmer which does do x10 LD11.  Ive had the
same model running the bathroom lights (12v) for 2 years as per
letsautomate. I was going to provide a link to the letsautomate page
which has the details but it seems to be down or im having probs
accessing it.

The spare dimmer doesn't work either though :( and I tried it direct

It may well be dimmable, but not by an LD11, which is only suitable
for resistive loads, ie standard light bulbs.  You need a dimmer
capable of driving a non-resistive load.

Cease before you smoke either or both items!
