Yep thats correci have xp home......I,ll give it a go now... Just a qick
one does the power have to be completely removed from the pc to install the
boards or is shutting down  good enough??

I think he's referring to the XP home networking wizard - meant to make it
easier to configure networking.

ICS (Internet connection sharing) is pretty easy to setup - find the dial
up connection icon (right click on My Network Places) and choose
properties. Then right click on the dial up icon - advanced and select ICS.
There is also a help file accessible from that tab.

This is all in XP Pro - don't know if Home is the same if that's what you
have.

Frank,

If you are just connecting two PC's together, you need a cross-over cable
between the two.  I don't know what this wizard is he is talking about.
Make sure TCP/IP is installed on both machines and the easiest is to set
the
IP's manually to non routable addresses  - eg 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2.
I guess you need to run the connection sharing thingy on yuor main PC, but
I
have no experience with that.
A 4 port hub or switch (preferable) is pretty cheap these days and I would
be
inclined to go that route myself to be honest.
Your main machine will need to be switched on if you are using ICS.
