The cams has to work at the same light response spectrum as the IR leds
i.e 970Nm wave length , if these do not match up the IR lamp will still
work , however not as "bright" as u may expect, you would be
better
buying a low light Mono CCTV cam and using a small wattage incandescent
light , this will work as well if not better at a fraction of the
cost.....

Subject: [ukha_d] CCTV cameras - Building an infrared floodlight
Dear all,
has anyone be using any of those infrared floodlights to improve the
images of CCTV cameras in the dark?
I have seen some on e-bay featuring 24 leds. I need to light the front
door so we are talking about a distance of 3-4 meters maximum.
Before I proceed buying such a product (or even build my own) I would
like to see how the pictures would look like.
Can anyone email me such a picture along with a very short description
of the floodlight specs (num. of leds etc)?
Thanks,
Thanos
