The Abloy locks are great - lock on power fail but also has a very high
sec=
urity key system as well - the rounded stick type key that some newer cars
=
have. Meant to be unpickable. Basically a solenoid in the lock
enables/disa=
bles the handle in and out. Very expensive though as each full set cost me
=
about =A3300 IIRC.

Paul.

Cool - what kind of locks are you using it with (if that isn't too much
of a risky question!) - was just thinking what happens in event of a
power failure trying to get out (in a fire) or in - when the powers off.

Well actually I have ;)

I've got one door with an Abloy electronic lock (great bit of kit). I
control it with a Visonic rolling code keyfob (4 buttons which are
programmed in Comfort/HomeVision).

The bit where the designer said that a keyfob doesn't have the range to
open doors at the back of a house is total c**p - the visonic system has
amazing range and the support people told me it could be even more
powerful but they're limited to a maximum power output by regulation of
the band they use I think.

Paul.

Hehehe, I could just see someone walking upto the front door.. hitting
the button and the back door opening at the same time :)

So which UKHA'er(s) have done this already? :D
