Actually the phone system in the house is great. I doubt I'll touch=20
it. I'll have the phone company out to add a coupleof new phone=20
lines for my office but that's about it.

Important dside note I probably should have stated right at the=20
beginning: I'm in France!

There aren't any French groups of this type as home automation is=20
looked upon here as international espionage and the American groups=20
just are not applicable. This is the closest European group I could=20
find and I go to London every 2 months so can pick up stuff there.

But the phone system is definitely different and we still live under=20
a phone monopoly (France T=E9l=E9com)...

I'll be adding in the television cable which will also be our=20
Internet access with an SMC Barricade router behind it for sharing.

Offlist I received a recommendation for the Comfort System=20
(comfort.org.co.uk) which looks very interesting although I haven't=20
been able to figure out exactly which bits and bobs I would need for=20
my needs. Any opinions on that system?

I must be in a bizarre situation: we only have one television. Yes=20
that's right we're very automated and very computerised but only one=20
television. I therefore want everything running through the=20
computers as we already have at least 8 of those and can always add=20
more easily.

Do the X10 systems work here in Europe???
