You have to be careful, as I found out to my cost.
F couplers (with or without nuts) can be either 'long' or 'short'. Using a
nut on the 'long' coupler works, but if you use a nut on the 'short'
connector then the F plug won't fasten properly to the 'nutted' side of the
coupler.
Beware.
