Have you thought about sinking a box into the wall behind the PIR, 1g
architrave boxes are very good for this and when wiring for wall lights.
They are 70mmx25mmx28mm deep.

Subject: [ukha_d] HA but not quite yet!

I'm helping a friend with his self build design. (Barn conversion.)
Surprisingly enough I've talked him into the whole HA scene.

He's currently a reluctant follower but I'll soon talk him round :-)
what he has agreed is that he will at least cable the barn for possible
future requirements.

As a result he's going to put CAT5 in to all rooms and at each lighting
point.

The lighting ring will be a star topology with per star switching.

Effectively this unused Cat5 etc will just be placed in back boxes and
blanked until such time he can justify the expense/reason to terminate
it all.

He wants to do the same for alarm PIR's to corners of the room, but I'm
struggling to find a solution that will look tidy. Dangling wires will
not look good! Is their any type of connector block that could be very
discreetly placed in the corner of a room? It would need to meet alarm
co approval though?

Maybe I'm clutching at the impossible idea?

Rob
