No actual figures, but the often quoted example is simply that 1% of
the US is a much bigger market than 1% of the UK. I'm not saying that
this is necessarily an appropriate way to judge it, but I can see how
the manufacturers can look at this model and jack up the price.
What I don't understand is the rationale behind us getting inferior
products at the higher prices. Where is the evidence that we are not
interested in status feedback for example?
