The downside is they cost twice as much :D, although the eMac is a good
alternative (if you can bear to live with a CRT)

Don't get me wrong.. im with Alcina on this one all they way... Macs rule
:D

Its worth waiting for the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse though... its
bound to look better than microsofts offering!

You need a mac my son! :) Although they no longer come in pretty
colours (though you could get a second hand one).  The white,
angle-poise wannabes are whisper quiet, definately trendy and cutesome
and the mouse lights up!  Small footprint, easy to use interface, unix
BSD underpinning (not that SWMBO needs to know anything about that!)
should you wish to get into the innards.  USB and firewire as standard
for attaching girlie cameras and stuff.
