Hmmm...not a Fujitsu controller problem then!  However, all my Fujistu
replacement drives were Western Digitals and I had a larger percentage
of duds than I would have liked amongst them.  I still think you might
be better off backing up and replacing the whole drive.  Particularly
if the drive is 'mission critical'.  One never quite trusts a drive
once it's produced I/O errors.
