I've not specifically used any, but UY20W from Maplin seems to be an
8-way active one.  As far as passive ones go, I built a 2 way from a
metre of cable, a male VGA connector, and two female VGA connectors.
It did take an afternoon to solder together, but it was the only
option I could find at the time to finish the project on time.  If I
were to do it again, I'd use a piece of stripboard in a box with
connectors mounted on the box all soldered to the stripboard.
Connecting two wires to each pin on a 15-pin VGA connector is tricky
to say the least!
