They will play - they are backward compatible, to a degree. But the quality
you will get from a standard mp3 player from mp3pro files is worse than if
you had simply produced an MP3 in the first place.
You'll have to check all of your mp3 players to make sure they handle it,
otherwise you have to accept reduced quality.
It's also not recommended to re-encode mp3 to mp3pro. AIUI it's better to
encode an original directly to mp3pro.
