A bit of a noddy question, but I'll ask it anyway ;-)

A NAS box is simply a cut-down PC, with a network card, and *lots* of disk
space configured as a share(s) for anyone that want's to access it ?

Four NAS boxes were "reviewed" in one of the Digital Home mag
issues, but the article was a bit light on technical specifics.
