RE: Power on and off xbox...

Rob,

It works flawlessly !!! The only thing to keep in mind is that it uses
the "Display" button of the XBox DVD Remote to turn the unit on,
and the
"0" (number) button to turn it off. So you should have the MS DVD
Remote
and dongle (or similar third party remote) AND it means if you ever used
the key pad on the remote, such as time access with XBMP, then you can no
longer use the 0, it will shut the XBox off.

My next step is to learn the IR signal and see if I can send it down over
a repeater (should be easy !). Then you would no longer need the MS DVD
dongle as the kit uses its own IR receiver.

There was also discussion on the XBMC forum that one could possibly
control XBMC over TCP/IP using Python. Not much details yet, but this
could be promising. You could then use something like NetRemote and an IR
transmitter at Node 0 to turn on the XBox and control it from anywhere in
the house.

Enough rambling though ...

All in all, the kit is great !

For the record - I have no links to the lad/company and have not interest
in the product, except for being a happy customer !
