I was going to put the Rx and Tx in the PIRs,  but due to time, money and
bad planning didn't get enough of the 8 core cable, Doh!

****Always buy twice as much cable as you think you need!****

I did however install a couple of Keene receivers in the back box of Cat5
outlets, works fine, since they are in less used rooms next to the TVs
anyway.

Has anyone here used or does use a PIR for their alarm, but used it to
house a IR receiver - which is wired back to a central IR
module/transmitter to Node 0...

Seems to be a neat little solution for IR receivers throughout the house.
