In Car Video/PC's

Im looking to fit get video playback into the car (tired off sitting on the
M1 everyday), and wondered whats the best option.

A basic DVD player setup off the shelf etc, or is it worth going the extra
mile and installing
a PC - i.e. a mini itx.  Do laptop style harddrives cope with the temp
changes and vibrations
and are the touchscreens usable enough.

If i can id like the PC to play MP3's, videos, maybe basic internet access
via GSM modem
and possibly act as a handsfree car kit?

Anyone got any general tips, advice, experience and links to share
