Hello. It's interesting to know that. I should explain that I found
that out by accident trying to change a bulb without unplugging the
lamp (naughty I know), not some silly way of switch the light on
without x10! Does the appliance module behave the same way? I must try
it and see.

I'm still trying to think if there is a way to retrofit x10 switching
to stair lights without having to lay extra wires, conduit, etc. I
heard that you can switch a din module on and off via the two way
wiring, but the problem is that at the light end of the circuit you
will only have switched live and the load (lamp), but I think you will
need live, switched live, and load. To make matters worse I have the
low energy bulbs, so i will need appliance modules that will require
neutral also.
