The situation doesn't really suit that. I would need a short BT
extension cable which would need to be made up given the length. I think
I'd rather take a filter apart instead.

Can you fit a patch lead into the secondary socket, then connect the
plug-in to the end of the patchlead ? That might give you a bit more
scope to hide it.
