Astra offers broadband through your mini dish
SATELLITE operator Astra is to launch a broadband service in the UK next
year.
The company has teamed up with AVC, a network and communications
specialist,
to launch the UK's first nationwide consumer broadband
internet-via-satellite service using ASTRA - AVC Broadband.
Speaking last week at Chateau de Betzdorf, Astra's HQ in Luxembourg, Mike
Chandler, Astra UK's managing director, explained that the high-speed
package will offer in excess of 512k download speeds, more than ten times
faster than 56k phone line modems, with unlimited Internet access.
