Out of interest, what do you think of the RoadPilot?  I still have the
option of returning my S6R Neo (though considering I got it for =A3199 I
do=
n't
really want to, as anything else similar will cost =A3350+).  My biggest
gripes with the S6R, other than the GPS problem, are the size of the
control/display unit (quite deep, nowhere to really mount it discreetly),
and the lack of a dock, i.e. every time I remove it from the car I have to
unplug the power, GPS and laser cables.  My trusty old Geodesy just popped
out its' holder.

My Morpheous roadpilot has been dropping out for the last few days and
losing the signal.  However my IPAQ with tom tom and a royaltek gps had
a 12 sat lock today!  I found that when the Gulf war II started the
roadpilot was dropping out and wouldn't get a lock most of the time.  I
phoned morpheous and they said it was due to the yanks putting
"encryption" on the GPS signal??  Thought it was BS at the time
but lo
and behold about 3 weeks later the signal returned to normal.

Seems to me that the GPS receiver on the camera detectors is crap but
SAT Nav receivers are v good.  Im still non the wiser though :-

I bought a GPS gatso detector lest week, and it worked fine on a quick
check-out test.  I went to install it over the weekend, and it failed to
acquire any satellite signals, no matter how long I left it.  I called
Snooper tech support this morning, and they are claiming that the GPS
signals have been 'turned down' due to something about the lunar eclipse
last week.  I pointed out that my satnav system still works fine, but
apparently this is more powerful than the GPS aerial supplied with my
Snooper.

I feel like I've just been made a mug of, but is there any element of
truth to this?  Have any of you with Tom Toms or similar experience
problems since around last Thursday?
