Re: IR taps?

Quick search turned up these

http://www.geberit.co.uk/gb/Webgb.nsf/pages/prod-flush-3
http://www.rwc.co.uk/rwc/pdfs/senselec/SENS250b-001-12_02.pdf
www.rwc.co.uk was lots of interesting stuff, auto bog flushers and
allsorts, might even be some of the solenoid valves as discussed on the
automatic bath thread.

Hmm after a little more digging.........

Senselec ® TS W.C. Controls
Electronic controls for W.C.s, using touch sensitive sensors. Packs include
either a 2 or 4 channel mains operated controller. Solid or cross wall
single sensor modules should be purchased separately. Solenoid valves for
each channel are provided - 1 1/4" for gravity fed systems (min 0.05
bar) or
3/4", for direct mains connection

SENSELEC ® IR, INFRA RED RANGE
(Due for release Spring 2002)
Reliance ® offers a high quality range of infra red operated taps,
shower controls, WC controls, and urinal controls. The system uses active
infra red sensors which have a adjustable detection beam that can be
altered
to between 40 mm and 200 mm depending on site conditions or customer
requirements.

The sensor itself is programmed to open a solenoid valve for a
specific length of time,
when it detects movement in the infra red beam, after this time has
elapsed the sensor will automatically shut off the water flow.

All the infra red taps and control packages can be used with either
battery packs using 6V lithium type batteries or a 230Vac/ 6Vdc stabilised
mains power supply unit

Senselec ® IR Basin Controls Vertical Sensors
Reliance ® has developed a unique range of infra red basin taps.
Unlike most standard hands free actuated taps on the market, the sensor is
positioned vertically in the specially designed tap headwork. This allows
the user to actuate flow without committing his hands to the risk of hot
water, or high flow rate. The user can then ascertain the flow rate and
temperature of the water once flow has commenced.
