Re: HA Server Upgrade

OK to answer your questions:
1. 165W PSU is fine, I have 2 40gb HD's, a CD/DVD Combo and a Hauppauge TV
=
Tuner card in 1, it runs fine.
2. Is it quiet ? - No is the short answer. This is a problem with ALL
small=
form factor PCs except for the EPIAS. Packing that much hardware in a smal=
l space generates a lot of heat, you need a hefty fan on the back to keep
t=
hem cool. It isnt a problem for me as mine live in my garage beneath my
com=
ms cabinet.
If you want quiet, it will come with a price tag. Terminators are a cheap
s=
ollution, if you want a quiet solution start budgeting a grand or so.
Looking at what you want do, I dont think the EPIAs are going to be up to
t=
he job, remember that these are basically the old CYRIX line of processors
=
and in reality they are not a particularly cheap solution

Interesting... But a couple of quick questions...
Is it OK with a 165W PSU?
How quiet are they? I'm after something that's basically silent...

Cheers
