Neil,

I use the xAP meteor plugin, and xAP-logger to log to a database.

The meteor plugin I use is on http://partick.lidstone.net. If you
want to run it on linux, that's good. If you prefer to run it on
Windows, then you'll need to install cygwin first (and download the
appropriate binary of the plugin.)

If .NET takes your fancy, there's an alternative meteor in .NET,
which is, I think, on www.xapframework.net.

For the logging, I use the xAP-logger that Mary wrote, which is in
VB, so only runs on Windows. I use MySQL, but xAP-logger uses OLEDB,
so if you can set an OLEDB data source for Access, it should work
fine.
