If you want to use CBus i would suggest that you could wire and mimick the
layout of a CBus dimmer module to save future alterations.

Frank is right one or two 10amps per floor will be enough depending on how
many lights you have, you indicate you are planning on using 8 channel
dimmers - so max 8amp load so 1 x 10amp feed will be sufficient wired via 1
or 1.5mm cable, as your present circuit feed.

Take the feed into a suitably wide unit - make sure its double bank as each
outgoing circuit should be fed via 1amp MCB - on the top din rail mound
snap
on terminals in a row on the bottom of the terminals you could daisy chain
the 1mm feed to link them all together, on the top put your individual
circuits into them - put all your neutrals together at one end and all your
earths, this will mimick the layout of a cbus dimmer module.

Do you plan on wiring new circuits via traditional light switches for
moment
? - you could then joint and plaster over when you implement CBus.

If all this doesnt make sense - mail me direct and i could fax you a poor
diagram of what i mean :)

Thanks Frank,

I've got the upstairs and downstairs on two separate circuit breakers
anyway
in the main consumer unit(CU) where the mains comes in off the street, but
in preparation for future installation, I was thinking of splitting that
even further, that way, I assume, it would be easier to install the cbus
bits.. (Into additional CUs located in Node0, the main CU is in the
kitchen).

You could do it this way....I would have thought a circuitBreaker
for upstairs and one for downstairs....I have mine on a 10A circuit
breaker....Dean will be able to clarify this one.......

12 modules........

Yes....

units?

Paul Gale or Brian ?? can point you in the right direction......
