You certainly don't need a static IP! Yes it is easier with one, but one
of the many dynamic host to IP services can be used [such as dydnds that
you mentioned]. I personally use no-ip.com, my firewall is setup to sync
with that and my subdom to home lan point to <mycomp>.no-ip.com which
will always have the current IP of my firewall.
