Phil Harris is doing exactly what you want with myHTPC, ISOs and
ZoomPlayer. I am doing the same thing with myHTPC, Files and
ZoomPlayer. Because Phil is using ISO's he has to mount them using a
little batch program and is suffering a small delay (though nothing
like 5 seconds I believe). However with the file approach I get no
delay at all. Phil has paid for his version of ZoomPlayer and has no
splash screen, I am using the trial version and the splash screen
appears for a fraction of a second.
