If you've got the cheaper (non programmable) version of the Autoglide
controller, it supports discreet open/close commands straight out of the
box by using the correct pins on the RJ11 connector (there are two on the
motor housing). I use a relay driven by Comfort to close the correct
terminals (one for open, one for close). Works a treat - I have the
curtains opening and closing via a HV schedule (linked to Comfort) and also
on security mode changes i.e. away mode closes the curtains etc. You can
also use HV to do the same thing.

did anyone ever get anywhere implementing anything similar that could
be hard wired to say comfort which would allow disrete open close etc?

Or can it be done by adding a relay in parallel to the existing
switch and controlling that via short pulses from Comfort or
Homevision
