Re: Heeelp !! My PC is dead :-(

I am scrapping 2 PCs at the moment - You are welcome to the PSU if it would
help.

No, nothing. No even the fan in the PSU itself.

Thanks, have tried that today. No response :-(

Yup. No response :-(

I'm coming 'round to that now. The PSU has switchable voltages and I've
tried it on both 230V & 115V with the same results. I've also now
opened it up and one of the caps on the outlet side looks shot (bulging
top). I've also plugged a meter into the molex plugs directly and don't get
anything useful (around 0.4V whichever circuit I try).

Maplin (of all places) seem to be the best option for a replacement: Micro
ATX format PSU, only slightly larger than this one. Part # FZ95D, 40-quid.
All the other on-line stores I tried didn't seem to have anything suitable.

Checked that, and it does spin freely :-) So hopefully it is just the PSU.

Thanks Ian, much appreciated.

Tim H.

P.S. Wanna know the irony of it all ? I brought the PC back for "safe
keeping" as we didn't want it damaged / lost during a forthcoming
relocation. DOH ...
