*sigh*

xPL is an ongoing development of ukha users to try to provide a universal
protocol to allow HA appliances to communicate. (for the sake of fairness
and level handedess, there are actually two similar but slightly different
ones: xPL and xAP)

Within this framework, rather than writing both ends of a control system,
you would simply produce a Smartfit - Serial interface, then a gateway to
the xPL environment, at which point, any of the various on screen display,
scripting or other control (such as X10) can use the temperature
information
and various other systems could be used for control purposes.

There's a seperate group for xPL, ukha_xpl@xxxxxxx and, tbh, I'd be
delighted to have another picbasic bod to talk to about xPL
implementations!!
