also, be aware that this approach is really not as good as properly fitting
a mod-chip or flashing the TSOP on the Xbox.

I struggled with a soft-hacked XBox for ages, then finally gave in popped
the motherboard, soldered the write enable on the TSOP, and used the 007AUF
hack with Raincoat to flash the onboard TSOP with an EVOX M7 Bios..

no beating about the bush, the wires to be soldered are *tiny* and  it's a
bit of a hassle, but it's dramatically *less* hassle  than mucking about
with the soft-hacks.
