Re: [OT] Windows WTS

Li

In my work we use Citrix Metaframe for delivery of published applications
(launched via NFuse)

I can chat to you offline about it if you wish, but as far as how many
users
per server, it just depends on the hardware, processors, but more
importantly memory. The servers we use are currently Dual processor DL370
servers with 1 Gig Memory. When running in load balancing mode we have them
sized so they support 50 users normally, but they are sized so if any of
the
servers in the farm drop out they can actually comfortably run 75 users.

We took the approach of many servers supporting 50 users per server
normally, this is to minize the impact of a server going down, which would
only affect a max of 50 users. Whereas if we went for larger servers with
more processors and more memory, then the impact of a server going down is
much larger.

If fact we are now looking at moving to Blade technology to migrate our
Metaframe farm to.

Anyway thats enough rambling from me, I'll go and check sizing specs for
you
to see what the minimum number of servers you might get away with. But just
bear in mind the implications of running so many users on each server.
