RE: Tag & Rename question....

I think 'MP3 Book Helper' can do folder renaming, don't let the name
mislead
you!
IIRC it's on sourceforge. Freeware too.

Subject: [ukha_d] Tag & Rename question....

Hoping someone whose used T&R a bit can help me....

I have a sizeable chunk of a library where the format is:

<Artist>\<artist - album> i.e there is a top level folder
for the
artist, and underneath that is a folder per album, *but* the artist name
also appears as part of the album folder name....

I want to change it so that the folder name exactly matches the album
name,
i.e. like the following:
<Artist>\<album>

the album name *is* correct in the ID3 tag of all the .mp3 files within
that
folder....

So, is there a way I can get T&R to rename a folder based on the ID3
tag
of
an MP3 file within it, or failing that, is there a way I can get it to
rename a folder using a rule to make it split the existing folder name at
the hyphen?

or, failing even that, can anyone suggest a simple way (other than
knocking
up some vbscript, as I've already thought of that...) to do what I want?

TIA

Paul G.
