This is probably a hot potato but it is something I have been pondering
(dreaming about) for a while.

I have read numerous mag reviews and, given a limited budget, you can't
IMHO beat the latest Hitachi screens - the one with the media box even
won plasma of the year in one of the mags a couple of months back! They
have just released a model that doesnt have a media box if you have all
the tuners you need.. Having said that Sky are doing a 36 month interest
free credit deal on the Sony 42" at the moment :-)

A friend here at work is looking to buy a plasma and has the
option of either

Sony, Pioneer, Samsung or Hitachi

He's looking for a 42" panel... what are peoples opinions on the
various makes
above and whats the best one for him to go for?

I know a lot of people are going to say "Panasonic" but
unfortunately thats not
available to him...
