Ant / Stuart,
I've been thinking, and found this - it's from the instructions of a brass
corded pole:
http://www.userview.net/easyDIY/suppliers/20715/products/20734/std-ins-4.html?Kitchens
(there are corded wooden poles but I haven't found an online pic yet)
Picture #6 is of one of the centre sliders. Cut the rings from the pole,
slide the curtain tabs over the pole and fix the leading tabs to the
sliders (as Ant described) and you've got the basics of the system. You may
need to fit additional sliders inside the tabs so the curtain moves
smoothly over the pole but something like strips of plastic cut from ice
cream and curled inside the tabs should see to that (perhaps even
felt-lined?).
You still have to use the curtain motor etc. from Mark's site, but it saves
some mucking around <cough> development.
What do you think ?
