I believe this model has noisy fans ??

Check reviews out at http://www.avforums.com

Hitachi was my first choice, but due to fan noise, i went for Pioneer
instead

Anyone looked at the Hitachi 42PD3000 plasma TV? I've not physically
seen one yet but it seems to be pretty good.

Cheapest I've found is £2,708 inc vat (empiredirect.co.uk) but sale ends
midnight Monday.

1024x1024 PC resolution and loads of inputs.
Split Screen Function - Picture and Teletext, PC and Picture.
Comes with tuner and stand.
Recent reviews say it has a great picture (I will not use the speakers
so don't care about the sound!)
http://www.hitachidigitalmedia.com
has the full specs.

I plan on using it with digital cable, Tivo, games consoles, DVD and PC.

How does the picture compare with the typical favs like the Panny?

Does anyone know how well it can be controlled? i.e. Doesn't appear to
have a serial interface, what about discreet IR codes? I want to be able
to press a button on my Pronto and have everything set correctly for the
video source, plasma, amp, curtains, lights etc...

Confession time, I work for a company owned by Hitachi but nothing to do
with this home electronics stuff.

Thanks

Phil
