Hello Everyone,
I have just joined the mailing list and it certainly seems busy, and I
look forward to learning about Home Automation. I am new to this area
but have had experience in Sky, Aerial and DAB distribution systems. So,
could anyone advise me on the best introduction to Home Automation?
There definitely appears to be a wealth of information online, some
appears to compete with each other and so many different ways to do the
same things. Anyway have ordered the 'Smart Homes for Dummies' book as a
get to know the basics guide. I am guessing that X10 is the basis of
many systems? If so, where in the UK is the best place to get the
equipment? Since the best way to learn is to experiment a little first.
Kind Regards,
Stuart Townhill.

Welcome!
Please post an introductory message about yourself to the list now -

This is for the UK Home Automation Die Hards! It can be quite a at times
(record month averaged out around 130 messages per day!) but is full of
interesting debate and info on HA and related topics (MP3, Home Cinema,
DIY, General Computer Stuff etc).
We pride ourselves on having one of the friendliest, most helpful lists
around. You won't get abuse for asking a "newbie" question and
flaming
isn't tolerated here. If the message volume is too high for you, you can
still subscribe and have a digest email sent once a day or even turn off
email all together and just read the articles you're interested in on
the web.
