RE: [OT] Quieter PC case?

>I am looking to replace my PC case (a real cheapie noisy brute of a
thing) with something a bit quieter.

You could look at this ::
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=3D1277
case with silencing
material inside it, alternatively you can buy acoustic matting and stick
it in your current case. 4 different types ranging in price from =A312.50
to =A341.99 can be found here
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?subcat=3D39

Also on that page, hard drive sound insulation, passive graphics card
cooling, rubbed mounting for fans and hard drives etc.

You might also want to look into one of the superb Zalman flower
coolers, they eliminate noise by using a large low-speed fan which is
attached on a mounting bracket, as opposed to on the top of the heat
sink, eliminating vibrations.

After all that you'll probably find your power supply is far too noisy,
but quietPC supplies don't come cheap. =A365 for this one -
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=3D1728
- but they are almost
silent. A lower cost alternative isn't quite silent, but quieter -
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=3D1730
- and that should be
you, an inaudible PC.

Usual disclaimer, in no way affiliated with kustompcs, they just happen
to be my local, you'll get nothing but the best customer service from
them.
