CallerID display on the TV (through TiVo) etc makes a world of
difference for me. Withheld numbers now do NOT get answered. I was
getting loads from various organisations for a few weeks/months, but
they seem to have given up on me and it's gone nice and peaceful at
last.

I used to get an awful lot of Withheld calls that would just hang up
when I answered. I'm guessing from number harvesting mechanisms????
Whatever, this so *infuriated* me I just stopped answering Withheld
number calls altogether. If you don't want me to know your number, I
don't wish to talk to you.
