There is an option within the DVD driver to turn DTS and Dolby Digital
output on.  I can't remember how to get to it, but I think whilst playing a
DVD get the PS2 DVD menu up and try each of the options (those stange
little
icons).  Its one of those thinks you only ever do once.  Also check you've
got the SPDIF etc turned on in the normal PS2 browser (I guess you have if
it works in games)

I have the remote control which has a newer DVD driver, because my PS2 is
one of the first european models, I have the driver stored on my memory
card.  I think the newer PS2s have latest driver on board.  I think both
drivers support DTS and Dolby Digital though.
