Re: Coax Confusion
Hi Tim
I have made up leads with f connectors on both ends and then used BNC / F
con adaptors............

Subject: RE: [ukha_d] Coax Confusion
Des,
Thanks for the offer. My problem is how to make a patch lead with a BNC
plug on one end and an F-plug on the other. I'd planned to use an existing
length of (RGxx) cable with a BNC already on it, and fit an F to the other
end. Since the RGxx centre conductor is stranded I can't do that.
My next thought was to fit the BNC plug onto a length of CT100, but having
tried last night, the centre conductor won't fit inside the centre pin of
my (screw together) BNC plug.
I think my only solution now is to go back to the RGxx cable with BNC, and
fit a "TV coax plug" (ugghhh, <shudder>) on the other end.
I hate this for a number of reasons (not least of which is going against my
own advice) but it's a solution, the patch lead is short, and the display
I'm feeding is not that high quality.
Cheers,
Tim H.

I have some BNC crimp connectors somewhere if you need them?
Cheers, Des.
